Implementing a Digital Product Passport for a single product is one thing. Rolling it out across thousands of SKUs is an entirely different operational challenge.
For large manufacturers, the difficulty is not simply creating more Digital Product Passports. It is determining which products to onboard, how to group them, how to handle variations, how to manage exceptions, and how to maintain control as the rollout expands.
A product portfolio may contain hundreds of product families, thousands of configurations, legacy products, regional variants, and constantly changing models. Treating each SKU as an independent DPP project quickly creates unnecessary complexity.
A scalable digital product passport implementation therefore needs a portfolio-level approach.
